The Phoenix 3D Printer
A Low Cost Printer With High-End Capability
The Phoenix is not just another low-cost 3D Printer, the true strength of the Phoenix lies in its software. Though the Phoenix 3D Printer can be had for under $400 USD it has some features that some Printers more than twice its price don’t. The customized Phoenix software intelligently manages your Filament to prevent tangles and messes that would otherwise rob you of time and sanity during your Printing projects. In case there is ever a “mess-up” during your Print, the Phoenix has a Print Recovery feature that allows you to pause and even rewind your Print to take care of tangled Filament, clogged Print Nozzle, or other issues, allowing you to resume your Print from the last good point. The Phoenix software is also available for iPhone and iPad allowing you even more mobility. If you have a collection of Design Files, the software provided with the Phoenix 3D Printer organizes your files to keep your life simple and even more stress-free. If you don’t have a collection of Design Files now, you will in the near future as you experiment with your 3D Printer.
The Phoenix team has also designed the Extruder to not allow heat to travel up the spool of Filament which would cause the temperature of the Filament to become inconsistent before it is pulled in for use by the Printer. If various parts of the Filament are different temperatures, bubbling, breakage, and clumping can occur in your Printed objects. Phoenix has a Print Volume of 240 mm x 215 mm x 200 mm and a Print Resolution of 0.1 mm. The Phoenix even has the option of a second Extruder allowing faster and/or multi-color Prints for only $100 USD added to the base price.
The Phoenix 3D Printer is currently in Pre-order with an expected ship time of March 2014. During the Pre-order you can buy your Phoenix for as little as $375 USD for a kit or $400 ready to go Out-Of-The-Box. Visit the Makers at ez3d.org to place your pre-order.
