What Is ABS Printing Filament?
The ABS printing filament is a polymer, or plastic, that is very flexible and durable printing filament. A polymer is simply a material that is made more dense by eliminating things such as water or by adding other materials to it ABS 3D printer filament has been around for many years and is still the most widely used filament. ABS filament tolerates heat very well and it is easy to glue multiple pieces of ABS polymer together to build larger objects, it also tolerates load or weight placed on
top of it very well; next time that side-table leg breaks you can print a replacement part rather than carving one. ABS should be used with a Printer that has a heated Print Bed as that will reduce warping of your object due to the heating and cooling of the plastic. The best operating temperature range for your 3D Printer when using ABS is between 215 to 250 degrees Celsius/420 to 480 degrees Fahrenheit. The ABS Printing Filament is good for children’s toys as it is very impact resistant and we all know that children are very gentle with their toys. Even though we recommend using 3D printers in places such as workshops and garages and with any Filament we recommend using proper ventilation when indoors due to the amount of noxious fumes it puts off when being used for prints. You may want to try PLA Filament indoors and/or around children due to it not having a noxious smell or even this wood-like Filament. You can buy ABS filaments here.
